As the only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) sponsoring a Division I swimming and diving program, Howard Swim & Dive carries a proud, singular legacy of athletic excellence, cultural impact, and barrier-breaking achievement.
The Bison continue to demonstrate what happens when talent, culture, and relentless grit collide. At the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships, Howard achieved a monumental dual sweep: the Men’s team captured their second consecutive NEC title (and third in four years), while the Women’s team made history by claiming their first-ever NEC Championship.
Under the visionary leadership of Head Coach Nicholas Askew and a decorated coaching staff, Howard student-athletes dominated the deck—bringing home individual accolades including NEC Most Outstanding Swimmer and Most Outstanding Diver, alongside staff Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
